❤️ FROM CNN DESK TO DIAPERS: ANDERSON COOPER OPENS UP ABOUT BEING A SINGLE DAD BY CHOICE
“I didn’t think I’d ever be a father. But here we are. And I’m all in.”

Anderson Cooper has reported from war zones, disasters, and presidential elections. But his most life-changing assignment? Fatherhood.
In 2020, the CNN anchor surprised the world when he announced the birth of his first son, Wyatt Morgan Cooper, born via surrogacy. In 2022, his second son, Sebastian, followed — and Cooper became a proud single dad of two.
“I didn’t grow up imagining I’d be a parent,” he once shared on air.
“But now, I can’t imagine life without them.”
A FATHER, NOT A HEADLINE
Cooper, known for his composed presence on TV, admits fatherhood has completely reshaped his world:
“I’m still learning how to install a car seat. I still burn pancakes. But when Wyatt calls me ‘Dada,’ it’s like time stops.”
He’s also been vocal about the importance of normalizing non-traditional families and the beauty of choosing love — not convention.
“Families come in all shapes,” he said. “Mine is small. And perfect.”
SHARING THE ROLE WITH AN EX – AND STILL BEST FRIENDS
One unique element? Cooper co-parents with his ex, Benjamin Maisani, despite no longer being a couple.
“We’re not romantically involved, but we’re family. We take turns. We laugh. We tag-team bedtime.”
The arrangement, while unconventional, has earned praise for putting children above ego, and redefining what it means to be a father in 2025.
